Abuja residents express mixed reaction on power supply....
The electricity situation across the Federal Capital Territory continues to draw frustration from residents, many of whom say the poor power supply is taking a heavy toll on their livelihoods and daily lives.
Residents say their Businesses are struggling, and they feel neglected.
Precious Oloruntomi, a resident of Bwari, a satellite town in the FCT, in an exclusive interview with a CBI News correspondent, said that the lack of electricity has left her feeling cut off from the rest of the world. Precious explained that the inability to charge her mobile phones makes it difficult for her to stay connected and informed about happenings around her.
A Kubwa resident, Michael Oluwaseun, disclosed that residents often enjoy electricity for only two or three days before new bills for the month are distributed.
Wada Ibrahim, a resident of Lugbe added that electricity supply in his area is rationed and largely inconsistent, leaving residents uncertain of when power will be available.
A Contractor Richmond Chukwu, who is not a permanent resident of the FCT but has been in the territory for some time, expressed a different view from other respondents. He revealed that there have been some improvements in electricity supply recently, compared to what was obtainable a few years ago.
While residents continue to express frustration over what they called the inconsistent electricity supply across the Federal Capital Territory, many say lasting solutions can no longer be delayed.
Residents want the relevant authorities to take urgent steps toward ensuring a stable and reliable power supply in the FCT.
